Cabaret Night with Carolyn Montgomery-Forant

Cabaret Night with Carolyn Montgomery-Forant

Thursday, May 24, 2018 Cabaret Night with Carolyn Montgomery-Forant

ABOUT THE EVENT

Join the Community Coalition for an intimate performance by BackStage Bistro and Nightlife Award winner Carolyn Montgomery-Forant, a singer, songwriter and recording artist based in New York City. Stephen Holden of The New York Times calls Carolyn “a smart, sophisticated storyteller” and The Baltimore Sun writes, “Brilliantly funny with the voice of an angel. Tracey Ullman meets Grace Kelly in Carolyn Montgomery-Forant.”

Carolyn and pianist Jeff Cubeta are making a special stop in Phoenixville for one night only to share some favorites from her recent hit show Visible Phoenix, which ran for 14 months in seven American cities and London. She is also fresh off of a national tour featuring her own choral work called “Rise” based on the poem “Still I Rise” by Maya Angelou. Carolyn calls this new show “The Second Half.” It features many tunes she loves but could not include in her prior shows, including selections from The Great American Songbook, jazz, musical theater and even some originals.

Proceeds from the evening’s performance will go to support The Community Coalition and their mission to serve and celebrate individuals, families and social institutions through a collaborative fundraising effort.
