Phoenixville: As of September 15, the Phoenixville Community Health Foundation (PCHF) has awarded a select group of grantees a combined amount of $1,059,500. Since 1998 when PCHF was first started, they have granted over $31,600,000 back to the greater Phoenixville region.
The awards are broken into three categories: the level one group provides direct access to health care; the level two group addresses the health, human service and quality of life issues for the fragile, disabled and those at risk of falling further behind socially and economically; and the level three group focuses on civic, recreation, community and economic development, and non-profit capacity building.
The level one group received grants totaling $320,000 and included the following organizations: Adult Care of Chester County, ALS Association Greater Philadelphia Chapter, Camphill Kimberton Hills, Camphill Special School, CareLink Community Support Services, The Clinic, Community Volunteers in Medicine, Diakon Adult Day Services at Manatawny, Holcomb Behavioral Health/Cornerstone Clubhouse, and Spring-Ford Counseling Services.
The level two group received grants totaling $607,500 and included the following organizations: Alianzas de Phoenixville, Ann’s Heart, The ARC of Chester County, Baker Industries, Bethel United Methodist Church, Bethany Christian Services of Greater Delaware Valley, Chester County Health Department, Citizen Advocacy of Chester County, Crime Victims Center of Chester County, First Presbyterian Church, Free Clinic Association of PA, Gateway Housing Group, Good Samaritan Shelter, Good Works, Grace Crossing Community Church, Hope Springs Equestrian Therapy, Housing Authority of Chester County, Limerick Cornerstone Outreach, Mission First Housing Group, Operation Warm, Orion Communities, Phoenixville Area Children’s Learning Center, Phoenixville Area Community Services, Ronald McDonald House of Delaware, Royersford Outreach/Open Door, Senior Adult Activity Center, Support Center for Child Advocates, United Way of Chester County, Volunteer English Program of Chester County, Wings for Success, and the Women’s Resource Center.
Lastly, the level three group received grants totaling $132,000 and included the following organizations: Astral Artists, Chester County Community Foundation, Delaware County Community College Foundation, Freedom’s Foundation at Valley Forge, Methacton School District Education Foundation, Owen J. Roberts Education Foundation, People’s Light & Theatre Company, Phoenixville Jaycees Foundation, Phoenixville Community Education Foundation, Renaissance Academy, Schuylkill River Heritage Center at Phoenixville, and the Schuylkill Township Police Department.
