ABOUT THE EVENT
Current Colonial Theatre members are invited to the 14th annual Member’s Party during the Academy Awards broadcast! This members-only affair will be held Sunday, March 4th in the 1903 Theatre. (Feature films will be shown in the Berry and White Rabbit Theatres during this time.) The nonprofit Colonial relies on the generosity of over 1700 members and additional donors to operate the historic theatre. Each year we celebrate their support with this glittery celebration of cinema!
This event consists of a pre-party with catered food at 6:30 PM in the Garden Suite and the 8:00 PM awards broadcast. The pre-party will feature delectable Oscar nominee-themed food and desserts from Valley Forge Catering. Rob Swanson’s Oscar and the Colonials will take the stage just before the broadcast to play us into the night and through commercial breaks with live music! During each commercial, members participate in a lively Oscar trivia contest and win fabulous prizes donated by Calhoun Jewelers of Royersford or from Bridge Street Chocolates! Dress to impress and enter one of four costume contest categories: Formal Wear, Old Hollywood Glamour, Pajamas or Nominated Films & Film Characters. (Don’t want to play dress-up? You’ll feel just as comfortable if you come as you are!) Before the awards are announced, be sure to participate in our annual Oscar pool. Ballots will be available in the lobby after nominations are announced on January 23. The Colonial will screen Oscar nominated films in the Short Films category on February 16th and potential nominees are available for your viewing pleasure throughout the week.
