A Visit with Martha Washington

A Visit with Martha Washington

Monday, March 30, 2026 A Visit with Martha Washington

ABOUT THE EVENT

Phoenixville Public Library will host living history presenter Carol Spacht for “A Visit with Martha Washington”, on Monday, March 30, 6:30 PM at the Library. George Washington is rightfully known as “the indispensable man.” Yet, few people really know his “worthy partner” – the woman behind the man. Lady Washington followed her husband to every winter encampment during the Revolutionary War, including Valley Forge. Then she followed her husband into the most powerful residence in the new nation, the President’s House in Philadelphia. As the “first” of the Founding Mothers, Martha Washington’s influence still resounds with us today. This program supports America 250 PA Chester County. This event is free and open to the public. Reservations are required at https://ccls.libcal.com/calendar/Phoenixville/visit-with-martha-washington or by calling 610-933-3013 x132. Email mpinto@ccls.org for more information.
