ABOUT THE EVENT
Award-winning jazz guitarist Abe Ovadia will perform with duo partner, bassist Michael Feinberg in concert at Phoenixville Public Library on Thursday, October 24 at 7:00 PM. Enjoy the sounds of Abe Ovadia, jazz guitarist, as he reimagines the American Songbook along with jazz standards. As Musicvox Guitars describes, Abe Ovadia is a “jazz phenom, one of the most innovative guitarists of our time.” Having emerged as one of the preeminent guitarists on the New York City jazz scene. The concert will include selections from many influential jazz composers such as John Coltrane, Wes Montgomery, and Miles Davis, to name a few. Abe holds a bachelor’s degree from Berklee College of Music, and a master’s from New York University’s highly acclaimed jazz performance program. He is also a recipient of the Best Guitarist of 2016 Award from Hot House Jazz Magazine.
Accompanying Abe will be Michael Feinberg on acoustic bass. Michael has been described as a “musical prodigy turned evil genius” from Spinner Magazine. His bass work has earned praise from audiences, critics, and musicians alike. After a decade in NYC Feinberg has established himself as one of the most versatile bassists on the scene, having worked with a wide array of artists like Dave Liebman, Billy Hart, George Garzone, John Scofield, Knower, Run DMC, and Daniel Platzman (Imagine Dragons). Feinberg is a graduate of the University of Miami where he earned a BM and New York University where he earned a Masters of Music.
