Adult Hands-only CPR and AED Training

Thursday, December 19, 2024 Adult Hands-only CPR and AED Training

ABOUT THE EVENT

Phoenixville Public Library in conjunction with the American Red Cross will host a free “Adult Hands-only CPR and AED Training” on Thursday, December 19 at 6:30 PM. The class will be led by Certified American Red Cross Instructor, Glenn Jones. In a cardiac emergency, every second counts. 70% of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen in the home, which means if you need to perform CPR, you are very likely to use it to save the life of a friend or family member. Would you know how to help if someone suddenly collapsed? This Hands-Only CPR and AED training will empower you with the skills and confidence to act in an emergency. Hands-only CPR is a simple, yet effective technique that can save lives by providing chest compressions without mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. In addition, you’ll also observe a demonstration on how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). This user-friendly device is designed to assist someone experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. Though advanced, the device is simple to operate, making it an essential tool in emergency situations. Please note that this class does not offer a formal certification. This event is free and open to the public. Space is limited. Reservations are required at https://ccls.libcal.com/calendar/Phoenixville/cpr-aed-training or by calling 610-933-3013 x132. Email mpinto@ccls.org for more information. Phoenixville Public Library is located at 183 Second Avenue, Phoenixville, PA.
