ABOUT THE EVENT

A free concert by Amici Strings, featuring many musicians from Phoenixville will be held on Friday, June 8 at 7:30 p.m. at Wayne United Methodist Church will bring peace to the soul. On the program is mezzo-soprano Kendra Broom of the Curtis Institute of Music, who will sing Handel’s “Ombra mai fu” along with other Baroque arias. Additional soloists include Jason DePue of the Philadelphia Orchestra, who will play Bazzini’s frenetic and mischievous scherzo fantastique La Ronde des Lutins (Dance of the Goblins) as well as some of his own arrangements of fiddle tunes. Jason will be joined by Grammy Award-winning guitarist, Dave Cullen, who will solo on Vivaldi’s Guitar Concerto in D major.

A reception will follow, featuring work by Phoenixville painter and district string teacher, Joe Klapper: joeklapperfineart.com. For more information, visit amicistrings.com.
