ABOUT THE EVENT
Phoenixville Public Library will host a free lecture, “Andrew Wyeth and the Kuerner Farm”, on Monday, May 22 at 7:00 PM. Mary Cronin, Dean of Education and Public Programs at the Brandywine River Museum of Art, will be the speaker. For more than 70 years, Kuerner Farm was a major source of inspiration to Andrew Wyeth. The hundreds of works the artist made of this place reveal his approach to subjects throughout his long and renowned artistic career. Discover the rich history of the farm and its significance for Wyeth’s creative process in this lecture.
The talk will serve as an introduction to “Andrew Wyeth: In Retrospect”, an exhibition of over one hundred of his finest paintings and works on papers selected from major museums and private collections. The exhibition is being co-organized by Brandywine River Museum of Art and the Seattle Art Museum to mark the 100th anniversary of Andrew Wyeth’s birth, and will be on view at Brandywine from June 24 through September 17, 2017.
This event is free and open to the public. Reservations are required on the Adult Events Calendar at www.phoenixvillelibrary.org or by calling 610-933-3013 x132.
