Phoenixville Public Library will host a free Zoom presentation by Craig Harris, author of Rise Up! Indigenous Music in North America, on Monday, May 20 at 6:30 PM. More than powwow drums and wooden flutes, Indigenous music is at the heart of North America’s soundscape. There’s Indigenous-rock, Indigenous-pop, Indigenous-jazz, Indigenous-hip hop, Indigenous-reggae and much more. Join percussionist, historian, storyteller, and the author of recently-published Rise Up! Indigenous Music in North America (Bison Books), Craig Harris for an eye-and-ear-opening, multimedia, and participatory introduction to the music of the continent’s First Peoples. This event is free and open to the public and will take place online via Zoom.
