Bach to Pop: Raymond Mallari in Concert

Bach to Pop: Raymond Mallari in Concert

Tuesday, October 09, 2018 Bach to Pop: Raymond Mallari in Concert

ABOUT THE EVENT

Phoenixville Public Library will host a free concert by violinist Raymond Mallari on Tuesday, October 9 at 7:00 PM. Raymond will present a wide-ranging program of classical gavottes, minuets and bourrées by Bach, Beethoven, Handel and others, alongside tunes by Yiruma, Imagine Dragons, Calvin Harris/Rihanna, and Swedish House Mafia.

Raymond Mallari acquired his advancing musical powers from Temple University and West Chester University. He was crazy enough to study both violin and viola. A great example of his craziness was his participation in the MTNA Music Competition not once, but four times. No, he didn’t win 1st place, although the judges did like his playing. His orchestral experience includes many groups, but these days he plays mainly with the Kennett Symphony. One orchestra even hired him to tour China back in the day! Another time he left the country was to earn a diploma of chamber music from an organization in Spain called ChamberArt. “RayRay”, as his friends and co-workers call him, teaches strings at Immaculata University, Ursinus College, and Community Music School, Trappe. Outside of music, he is currently attempting yoga and Blue Apron.

This event is free and open to the public. Reservations are required on the Adult Events Calendar at www.phoenixvillelibrary.org or by calling 610-933-3013 x132. Phoenixville Public Library is located at 183 Second Avenue, Phoenixville, PA.
