Monday, March 14, 2016 Book Talk & Signing: An Evening with “All-American Boy” Bob Backlund

ABOUT THE EVENT

In the Carnegie Room

Bob Backlund began life as a poor farm boy in a tiny Minnesota village. He was a below-average student with a lackluster work ethic and a bad attitude, a kid whose life was headed for disaster. Then a local coach took interest in him and suggested that he take up amateur wrestling. Less than a decade later, that same farm boy would become wrestling’s champion of the world.

Hear him tell his own story in this book talk and signing for his new autobiography, “Backlund: From All-American Boy to Professional Wrestling’s World Champion”.

Robert Lee “Bob” Backlund is the former three-time World Wrestling Federation Heavyweight Champion with an in-ring career that has spanned nearly forty years. Backlund continues to make occasional appearances for the WWE as a goodwill ambassador, while also continuing to work with kids in amateur wrestling and traveling the country as a motivational speaker. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on April 6, 2013. He lives in Glastonbury, Connecticut.
