ABOUT THE EVENT

Books on Tap, Phoenixville Public Library’s book club for adults in their 20s and 30s, will meet next on Tuesday, February 26 at 7:00 PM at Root Down Brewing Company, 1 Main Street, Phoenixville. The group will discuss Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy, an epic novel of the violence & depravity that attended America’s westward expansion. McCarthy brilliantly subverts the conventions of the Western novel and the mythology of the “wild West.” Based on historical events that took place on the Texas-Mexico border in the 1850s, it traces the fortunes of the Kid, a 14-year-old from Tennessee who stumbles into the world where Indians are being murdered & the market for their scalps is thriving.

A copy of the book may be reserved at the Library or at www.ccls.org. This event is free and open to the public. Food and beverages are available for purchase. For more information, e-mail Christine Shaffer at shaffer.m.christine@gmail.com.
