ABOUT THE EVENT
Books on Tap, Phoenixville Public Library’s book discussion group for adults in their 20s and 30s, will meet next on Tuesday, April 30 at 7:00 PM at The Foodery, 325 Bridge Street, Phoenixville, PA. The group will discuss Circe by Madeline Miller. In the house of Helios, god of the sun and mightiest of the Titans, a daughter is born. But Circe is a strange child–not powerful like her father nor viciously alluring like her mother. Turning to mortals for companionship, she finds she does possess power–the power of witchcraft which can transform rivals into monsters & menace the gods themselves. Threatened, Zeus banishes Circe to a deserted island where she hones her occult craft, taming wild beasts and crossing paths with many of the most famous figures in mythology. Eventually, she must summon all her strength and choose whether she belongs with the gods or mortals. A #1 New York Times Bestseller.
