Books on Tap, Phoenixville Public Library’s book discussion group for adults in their 20s and 30s, will meet next on Tuesday, July 30, 7:00 PM at Iron Hill Brewery, 130 E. Bridge Street, Phoenixville. The group will discuss Chloe Benjamin’s bestselling novel, The Immortalists. In 1969 in New York City’s Lower East Side, word spreads of the arrival of a mystical woman who claims to be able to tell anyone the day they will die. The Gold children–four adolescents on the cusp of self-awareness–sneak out to hear their fortunes. As their prophecies inform their next five decades, the Immortalists probe the line between destiny and choice, reality and illusion, this world and the next.
