ABOUT THE EVENT

Books on Tap, Phoenixville Public Library’s book discussion group for adults in their 20s and 30s, will meet next on Tuesday, November 26, 7:00 PM, at Sedona Taphouse, 131 Bridge St., #5, Phoenixville, PA. The group will discuss Tara Westover’s bestselling memoir, Educated. Tara Westover was 17 before she ever set foot in a classroom. Born to survivalists in the Idaho mountains, she prepared for the end of the world by stockpiling food and sleeping with her “head for the hills” bag. The family was so isolated from mainstream society, no one ensured the children’s education nor intervened when a brother became violent. To escape, Tara learned enough math and grammar to be admitted to Brigham Young University. Her subsequent journey takes her far from home and gives her perspective to see her life through new eyes.

This event is free and open to the public. No reservations are required. Food and drink are not included but will be available for purchase. Books may be reserved at Phoenixville Public Library or online at www.ccls.org. For more information, e-mail Christine Shaffer at shaffer.m.christine@gmail.com.
