ABOUT THE EVENT

Books on Tap, Phoenixville Public Library’s book discussion group for adults in their 20s and 30s, will meet next online/by phone on Tuesday, July 28 at 7:00 PM. The group will discuss “City of Girls” by Elizabeth Gilbert. This New York Times Bestseller is a unique love story set in the New York City theater world during the 1940s. Told from the perspective of an older woman as she looks back on her youth with both pleasure and regret (but mostly pleasure), “City of Girls” explores themes of female sexuality and promiscuity, as well as the idiosyncrasies of true love. It’s a delicious novel of glamour, sex, and adventure, about a young woman discovering that you don’t have to be a good girl to be a good person.

A copy of the book may be reserved at the Library or at www.ccls.org. An eBook or eAudiobook copy may be reserved at chester.overdrive.com. This event is free and open to the public and will be held online/by phone via Zoom. E-mail Christine Shaffer at shaffer.m.christine@gmail.com to receive an invitation to this event.
