ABOUT THE EVENT
Books on Tap, Phoenixville Public Library’s offsite book discussion group for adults in their 20s and 30s, will meet Tuesday, October 27, 7:00 PM, at La Patrona Mexican Restaurant and Tequila Bar, 400 Bridge Street, Phoenixville. The group will discuss Shirley Jackson’s acclaimed novel, The Haunting of Hill House. Four seekers have arrived at the rambling old pile known as Hill House: Dr. Montague, an occult scholar looking for solid evidence of psychic phenomena; Theodora, his lovely and lighthearted assistant; Luke, the adventurous future inheritor of the estate; and Eleanor, a friendless, fragile young woman with a dark past. As they begin to cope with chilling, even horrifying occurrences beyond their control or understanding, they cannot possibly know what lies ahead. For Hill House is gathering its powers—and soon it will choose one of them to make its own. Copies of the book and audiobook may be reserved at https://chesp.na.iiivega.com. eBook and eAudiobook copies may be reserved at https://chester.overdrive.com. This event is free and open to the public. No registration required. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Email Faith Donaher at fdonaher@gmail.com for more information.
