ABOUT THE EVENT
Books on Tap, Phoenixville Public Library’s book club for adults in their 20s and 30s, will meet next on Tuesday, February 28, 7:30 to 9:00 PM at The Great American Pub, 148 Bridge Street, Phoenixville.
The club will meet to discuss Modern Romance by Aziz Ansari and Eric Klinenberg. Every one of us embarks on a journey to find love. We meet people, date, and get into and out of relationships, all with the hope of finding someone with whom we share a deep connection. Single people today have more romantic options than at any point in human history. Some of our problems are unique to our time: “Why did this guy just text me an emoji of a pizza?’ But the transformation of our romantic lives can’t be explained by technology alone. The whole dating culture has changed dramatically. Today, people marry later than ever and spend years of their lives on a quest to find their perfect person. Ansari teamed up with an NYU sociologist and designed a massive research project, interviewing and conducting focus groups from Wichita to Tokyo. In this bestselling nonfiction book, Modern Romance, Ansari combines his irreverent humor and cutting-edge social science to give us an unforgettable tour of our new romantic world. A copy of the book may be reserved at the Library or at www.ccls.org.
This event is free and open to the public. Reservations not required. Food and drink are not included but will be available for purchase. For more information, contact Lindsay Friedenberg at lfriedenberg@gmail.com.
