ABOUT THE EVENT

The Chesco Pops comes to Phoenixville on Sunday, May 1, 3:00 PM, at the Phoenixville Middle School, 1330 Main St., Phoenixville, and a percentage of the proceeds benefits Phoenixville Public Library. The Pops is partnering with the Kennett Symphony Children’s Chorus for their upcoming concert series, titled “Around the World”. Audiences will take a trip and experience music from all parts of the globe, from French and Korean folksongs, to Spanish and African rhapsodies and more. Orchestra highlights include American Salute by Morton Gould and Variations on a Korean Folksong by John Barnes Chance. The Children’s Chorus and orchestra will combine for pieces such as Dry Your Tears, Afrika from John Williams’ film score to Amistad and a stirring rendition of Irving Berlin’s God Bless America. Tickets are $20.00 general admission, $15.00 for seniors (62+), and free for children and students (with a suggested donation of $5.00 per ticket).
