Community Gardening around the Village: Preserving the Harvest

Community Gardening around the Village: Preserving the Harvest

Thursday, September 22, 2022 Community Gardening around the Village: Preserving the Harvest

ABOUT THE EVENT

“Preserving the Harvest” will be the focus of the next Community Gardening around the Village Series presentation at Phoenixville Public Library on Thursday, September 22 at 6:45 PM. Tony Buck will be the speaker. Come learn a couple of easy-to-do preservation methods for this year’s harvest. Tony will cover dehydrating, the best conditions for preserving vegetables in the basement and bottling methods that preserve food for a year. He’ll focus on 15 different veggies, herbs, and fruits. Tony Buck has completed a Permaculture course and Penn State’s Master Gardener training, for which he volunteered for ten years. Some call him the “Ecological Gardener” because he’s always asking, “What would nature do?” Add to that how many years of gardening? He’s forgotten… This event is free and open to the public. Registration is required at https://ccls.libcal.com/calendar/Phoenixville/preserving-the-harvest or by calling 610-933-3013 x132. Email mpinto@ccls.org for more information. Phoenixville Public Library is located at 183 Second Avenue, Phoenixville, PA.
