ABOUT THE EVENT

Concordia Choral Arts presents “Sleepers Awake,” with organ accompaniment, a winter concert on January 26th at 3 pm. Season ticket discounts as well as price reductions for seniors, students, military, and groups of ten or more are available on line at www.concordiachoralarts.org. The setting for Bach’s beloved cantata is enhanced by the rich acoustics and beautiful sanctuary and organ of St. John’s Lutheran Church, 355 St. John’s Way, Phoenixville. Ease of access and free parking make this setting desirable for all, and especially welcoming for those with disabilities. Under Artistic Director S. Katherine Shealy and Assistant Director Alexis Renee Ward, the 40-member Concordia Voices will also present classical and contemporary choral works on themes of “dreaming and awakening,” including Joseph Martin’s “The Awakening,” Healy Willan’s “Rise Up My Love, My Fair One, ” and Erik’s Esenvalds’ “Only in Sleep” among its repertoire.
