Crescendo Phoenixville is a community-based music program that provides high quality music education to Phoenixville children who might otherwise not receive it. They provide each child in their program with a free violin, free year-round violin instruction, and frequent opportunities to perform and showcase their developing skills. They work primarily with Barkley Elementary students, and more than half of the students come from Latino families. Approximately 24 kids from 2nd – 5th grade meet after school and practice the violin for 4 hours each week. The kids are dedicated, hard-working, and talented. They take the lead in choosing what songs to learn and perform, and they help each other improve their violin and performance skills.
This event is free and open to the public. Registration is required at https://ccls.libcal.com/calendar/Phoenixville/crescendo-concert or by calling 610-933-3013 x132.
