ABOUT THE EVENT

Phoenixville Public Library will host a free presentation, “Dark History II: Unusual Deaths, Crimes & Hauntings in Penn’s Woods”, on Monday, October 3 at 6:45 PM. Jennifer Green of the Chester County History Center will be the speaker. A follow-up to the popular first Dark History lecture, which the Library presented last year, this program features more true tales of Chester and Delaware counties’ mysterious disasters, deaths and tragedies. Learn about the “coffin ships” that brought European immigrants into Philadelphia, and how one tragic crime inspired ghost-hunting mania in Delaware County. Hear about a terrible miscarriage of justice in Media and a dreadful explosion in Chester. At the end, we’ll explore a cold case that remains unsolved after 65 years. This event is free and open to the public and will also be livestreamed on Zoom for those who cannot attend in person. Registration is required at https://ccls.libcal.com/calendar/Phoenixville/dark-history-ii or by calling 610-933-3013 x132. Email mpinto@ccls.org for more information.
