Phoenixville Public Library will host a free presentation, “Dark History III: Black Widows & The Devil’s Luck in Penn’s Woods”, on Monday, October 23 at 6:45 PM. Jennifer Green, Director of Education for the Chester County History Center, will be the presenter. The third installment of the History Center’s “Dark History” series, this program features more true stories of misfortune in southeastern Pennsylvania. Explore mysterious shipwrecks with ties to Pennsylvania and a criminal poison ring that may have killed over 100 people. Learn how mental illness and abuse may have driven two local women—75 years apart—to the worst crimes imaginable. Warning: this presentation features discussion of violence against adults and children. Viewer discretion is advised. This event is free and open to the public. The program will also be livestreamed on Zoom for those unable to attend in person.
