ABOUT THE EVENT
Pennsylvania has more than 1.5 million residents who are eligible to vote but not registered. It is also one of the most difficult states in which to register and successfully cast a ballot. Each year, the number of unregistered voters grows, alongside widening gaps in participation across cultural and socioeconomic communities. At the same time, misinformation and disinformation make civic engagement harder, not easier.
This talk will explore why civic education matters, what obstacles people face on the ground, and how communities can respond with care, persistence, and clarity at a time when many feel discouraged or disconnected from the democratic process. The evening will include time for discussion and thoughtful exchange.
