Ann Atkins’ book, Eleanor Roosevelt’s Life of Soul Searching and Self Discovery, is an intimate review of Eleanor’s journey, revealing her rise above a broken childhood to live a life that dared to challenge injustice and shake the status quo of society. First Lady for thirteen years, Eleanor redefined and exploited this role to a position of power. Using her influence she championed Jews, African Americans and women. Local author Ann Atkins shares Eleanor’s story.

Ann’s journey has included: college instructor, counselor and director of a family support center, while living in Korea, England and Germany. Her master’s degree from Boston University encompassed studies at the University of Cambridge. As a speaker and author, Ann gives her audience relevant information to enlighten their own journey. Ann’s Flash History biography series also includes “Golda Meir ~ True Grit”. Ann lives in the Philadelphia area and enjoys her family, hiking, reading and a cup of good coffee.
