ABOUT THE EVENT
The Fourth Wednesday Readers, Phoenixville Public Library’s in-house book discussion group for adults of all ages, will meet at the Library Wednesday, October 28 at 1:00 PM. The group will discuss Following the Drum: The Women at the Valley Forge Encampment by local author Nancy K. Loane, who will be on hand for the discussion. This is the story of the forgotten women who spent the winter of 1777-78 with the Continental Army at Valley Forge–from those on society’s lowest rungs to ladies in the upper echelons. The author brings these women to life using military orders, pension depositions, soldiers’ descriptions and some of the women’s own diary entries and letters. Physical copies of the book may be reserved at https://chesp.na.iiivega.com. This event is free and open to the public. No registration required. Email mpinto@ccls.org for more information. Phoenixville Public Library is located at 183 Second Avenue, Phoenixville, PA.
