ABOUT THE EVENT
Phoenixville Public Library will host a free presentation, “Green Burial: The Solution is Here”, on Thursday, October 27 at 6:45 PM. Carin Bonifacino, co-founder of Friends of Green Burial PA, will be the speaker. Green burial is an idea whose time has come. As modern burial has gotten more complicated and more expensive, people have started looking for alternatives. While cremation is definitely cheaper, it too creates a negative impact on the planet through the burning of natural gas. Find out why green burial is the simplest, most natural way to return a body to the Earth and how it actually “gives back to the planet” rather than creating more pollution or waste. In this presentation, Carin Bonifacino will talk about what exactly green burial is, where it is available, and what the many benefits are to people and the planet. See pictures of green cemeteries currently in operation and get all your questions answered during the Q&A session. This event is free and open to the public. The program will also be livestreamed on Zoom for those who cannot attend in person. Registration is required at https://ccls.libcal.com/calendar/Phoenixville/green-burial or by calling 610-933-3013 x132. Email mpinto@ccls.org for more information. Phoenixville Public Library is located at 183 Second Avenue, Phoenixville, PA.
