Get ready for a magical evening under the stars with a few good friends named Harry, Ron, and Hermione!
On September 24, we’re teaming up with the Phoenixville Jaycees to host a FREE (FREE!) Movie in the Park: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone! The fall event is their way of saying ‘thanks’ for the community’s support of the annual Dogwood Festival – and this event kicks off a series of Harry Potter events indoors at the Colonial. (Stay tuned – details to be announced at Movie in the Park.)
Event starts at 6:00 in the new Phoenixville Recreation Center and surrounds, Movie begins at 7:00 sunset on Friendship Field/Pat Nattle Field at 501 Franklin Avenue.
Costumes are encouraged!
Popcorn will be available for sale. Sweet Brew will be on hand selling hot beverages, and other delicious treats and items will be available for purchase in a special Diagon Alley area set up inside the new Recreation Center. Check back for additional details.
MOVIE SYNOPSIS
The adaptation of the first of J.K. Rowling’s popular children’s novels is about Harry Potter, a boy who learns on his eleventh birthday that he is the orphaned son of two powerful wizards and possesses unique magical powers of his own. He is summoned from his life as an unwanted child to become a student at Hogwarts, an English boarding school for wizards. There, he meets several friends who become his closest allies and help him discover the truth about his parents’ mysterious deaths. Starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Tom Felton, Alan Rickman, Robbie Coltrane, Richard Harris, and Maggie Smith.
