ABOUT THE EVENT
Phoenixville Public Library will present a free program, “Hummingbirds: Dynamic Aviators”, on Monday, May 8 at 7:00 PM. Hank Davis — horticulturist, photographer and passionate birder — offers this presentation on eastern North America’s sole breeding hummingbird, the ruby-throated hummingbird. Mr. Davis will share his collection of photographs of these brilliant, tiny, precision-flying creatures.
Hank Davis is originally from New York City, but has lived in the Delaware Valley for 40 years. Upon his move to the area, he gained an appreciation for nature and open space. Ultimately, this led to a career in horticulture that lasted many years. Since his retirement, he has decided to pursue his lifelong passion in photography. While his primary photographs are of horticulture, he has recently included birds and his children’s sporting events to his portfolio.
Hank also serves the community by volunteering to take photographs for the Delaware Nature Society, Bucktoe Creek Preserve, Longwood Gardens and The Tatnall School. His bird photography can be found on his website: www.harolddavisphotography.smugmug.com.
This event is free and open to the public. Reservations are required on the Adult Events Calendar at www.phoenixvillelibrary.org or by calling 610-933-3013 x132.
