Laurel Hill Tour Guide
in the Community Education Room
The East Falls neighborhood of Philadelphia is home to Laurel Hill, one of the few cemeteries in the United States to have received National Historic Landmark status. Hear tales of a few of the thousands of people buried at Laurel Hill Cemetery, including the “Mother of Thanksgiving,” “the Bruce Springsteen of early 20th century American opera,” and the man who took the very first “selfie.” Laurel Hill stories are historic, strange, funny and spooky and perfect for the autumn season.
This event is free and open to the public. Reservations are required on the Adult Events calendar at http://phoenixvillelibrary.org/adults-events-calendar or by calling 610-933-3013, Ext. 132.
