ABOUT THE EVENT
Phoenixville Public Library will host a free presentation, “Life, Liberty & the Pursuit of Happiness”, in celebration of America’s 250th birthday, on Thursday, July 2 at 6:30 PM. Join local historian Jim Segrave-Daly for a lively discussion of the Declaration of Independence and the contentious debates in the Continental Congress that led to the creation of one of the world’s most significant documents, on the 250th anniversary of its adoption. This “Dare to Declare” event includes a reading of the Declaration of Independence. This program supports America 250PA Chester County.
Jim Segrave-Daly (thelocalhistorygeek.com) has presented nationally and been a volunteer history teacher for more than 15 years. He has deep family ties to the Revolution and is an active member of Radnor Historical Society, the American Revolution Roundtable of Philadelphia, America250PADelco, and Founding Forward.
This event is free and open to the public. The program will also be livestreamed on Zoom for those unable to attend in person.
