Tuesday, February 25, 2020 Local Author Book Talk: Gael Chiarella Alba: “Fruits of Care: A User’s Guide to Family Caregiving”

ABOUT THE EVENT

Local author and national speaker Gael Chiarella Alba will offer practical skills for caregivers in a free talk at Phoenixville Public Library on Tuesday, February 25 at 7:00 PM. Her new book is Fruits of Care: A User’s Guide to Family Caregiving. Family caregiving usually begins with simple acts of kindness supporting someone you love with their daily activities. Then again, you might be unexpectedly thrust into the middle of a medical trauma. Either way, you are now one of 4 million plus individuals who give care. Our numbers are growing as fast as our responsibilities! Things in the world of caregiving can quickly become overwhelming. Sharing a blend of memoir, current research and most importantly, some practical skills, Gael’s book highlights: the emergence of the family caregiver in the circle of care, the role of resilience through the experience of care, and results-oriented guidance in the practice of care. Bringing her expertise as a Yoga Therapist and meditation teacher to the rigors of caregiving, Gael helps caregivers successfully navigate care for themselves and others. This event is free and open to the public.

Reservations are required on the Adult Events Calendar at www.phoenixvillelibrary.org or by calling 610-933-3013 x132. Phoenixville Public Library is located at 183 Second Avenue, Phoenixville, PA.
