Monday, February 10, 2020 Local Author Book Talk: June McInerney: “Miss Elmira’s Secret Treasure”

ABOUT THE EVENT

Phoenixville Public Library will host local author June McInerney on Monday, February 10 at 7:00 PM. Elmira Wells Pennypacker served as Phoenixville Public Library’s first Director from 1898 until her untimely death in 1916. She is reputed to be one of five of the Library’s resident ghosts. In Miss Elmira’s Secret Treasure: A Novel of Phoenixville from 1859 to 1916 and Beyond, Elmira tells her stories, providing fascinating, informative glimpses into her life.

This delightfully light-hearted mystery is No. 6 in the historical Novels of Phoenixville series by June J. McInerney. Join June as she discusses her latest book and take an up close and personal glimpse into Elmira’s life and times growing up and living in Phoenixville during the post-Civil War era and the early 1900s; the historical significance of her “secret treasure”; and her role in the history of the Library where she is now and forevermore its self-appointed “spirited” caretaker.

This event is free and open to the public. Reservations are required on the Adult Events Calendar at www.phoenixvillelibrary.org or by calling 610-933-3013 x132. Phoenixville Public Library is located at 183 Second Avenue, Phoenixville, PA.
