ABOUT THE EVENT
Phoenixville Public Library will host a book talk by Lou Beccaria, President/CEO of the Phoenixville Community Health Foundation, on Monday, March 19 at 7:00 PM. Lou’s new book is My Journey in Philanthropy, which he describes as part memoir, part reflective essays about philanthropy and non-profit issues, and part rendition of over 32 true stories that show the sometimes humorous, unusual and quirky aspects of the giving and the receiving sides of philanthropy.
Louis J. Beccaria, PhD received his bachelor’s degree in social science-education from La Salle College and his master’s and doctorate degrees from the University of Delaware in urban affairs and public policy. He has had 46 years of professional experience spanning government and nonprofit positions in criminal justice, health and human services, and higher education, with 28 of these years in the philanthropy arena at three different foundations. He has been an adjunct professor in nonprofit management at Eastern University and Villanova University. He also has 17 years’ experience as a local radio and TV talk show host, and has been recognized many times for his vast community service work.
