ABOUT THE EVENT
Phoenixville Public Library will host a free presentation with local author Dave Brown, co-author of the new book, Shadows of Glory: Memorable and Offbeat World Series Stories, on Thursday, September 26 at 6:30 PM. Dave will discuss his book, coauthored with Jeff Rodimer, which contains 18 lesser-known but fascinating stories about the World Series, ranging from heartwarming and heartbreaking to amusing and outrageous. The stories span from 1918 — when World War I, the Spanish flu, and Babe Ruth intersected — to 2016, when the Chicago Cubs broke a century-long drought to capture the Fall Classic. Dave will also invite audience members to share their experiences attending World Series games and watching the World Series over the years. This event is free and open to the public. The program will also be livestreamed on Zoom for those unable to attend in person. Registration is required at https://ccls.libcal.com/calendar/Phoenixville/shadows-of-glory or by calling 610-933-3013. Email mpinto@ccls.org for more information. Phoenixville Public Library is located at 183 Second Avenue, Phoenixville, PA.
