ABOUT THE EVENT
Patrons of all ages are invited to meet local author, aviatrix, and animal advocate Erin Murphy at Phoenixville Public Library on Monday, April 3 at 6:45 PM. Erin is the author of a new picture book, Halfway Home (ages 4-8+). Lonely, Zeke is stuck in an abandoned home, left to stare out his window and dream. Dream of a place where he belongs. Until one day a rescue flight lands to help this lost puppy find his forever home. Join a conversation with Erin as she discusses how she discovered her love for writing about her rescue pup, Zeke, and animal air rescue services at mid-life. Erin, a United Airlines pilot, will share about the role aviation has in local animal adoptions through Brandywine Valley SPCA and beyond. She’ll also share how literary seeds to write sprung from her animal rescue volunteerism, which further inspired her to foster and write for the next generation of pet advocates. Copies of her book will be available for purchase and signing.
Erin Mariah Murphy is an international airline pilot, a dog mom, and an affiliate with animal rescue flight services through volunteering with the humanitarian efforts of the self-sacrificing airborne and ground crews. At home, she enjoys solitude offered by the rolling hills of Pennsylvania and the company of her two best guys: rescue dog, Zeke, and fellow aviator husband, John. All three enjoy being the ‘halfway home’ point for shelter dogs by fostering when feasible.
This event is free and open to the public. The program will also be livestreamed on Zoom for those unable to attend in person.
