ABOUT THE EVENT

Phoenixville Public Library will host a free presentation, “Marking a Trail of Women’s History”, on Monday, September 17 at 7:00 PM. Robyn Young will be the speaker. This educational presentation explores Robyn’s work to obtain 20 historical markers since 2001 for women’s history throughout Pennsylvania, including: the 1852 Women’s Rights Convention site in West Chester; women artists Ida Ella Ruth Jones, Jackie Ormes, Tatiana Proskouriakoff and Ethel Waters; suffragists Anna Howard Shaw and Ann Preston; and several others. She will show photos of the women, the artists’ artwork, and the locations of the markers. Robyn’s book, Women in Penn’s Woods, will be available for sale and signing after the program. This event is free and open to the public. Reservations are required on the Adult Events Calendar at www.phoenixvillelibrary.org or by calling 610-933-3013 x132.
