ABOUT THE EVENT
Phoenixville Public Library will host a free presentation, “May Your Days Be Merry and Weird: The Other Side of the Holidays”, on Monday, December 8 at 6:30 PM. Matt Lake, author of Weird Pennsylvania and contributor to more than a dozen books in the Weird US series, will be the presenter. We all like to get together and exchange gifts… but the holiday season has so much more! This illustrated talk is a broad sweep through the two-hundred-year evolution of the modern Christmas, including Santa’s origin story (which is much stranger than you’d think), and a motley cast of characters that parade through the festive season across the world. Expect fun, monsters, and a strange side to the celebrations. This event is free and open to the public.
