Learn about the treatment of disease and the practices of local doctors, including those at the Valley Forge encampment. In period dress, Rick will demonstrate capital operations, amputation, trepanning, purging, bleeding, and blistering with authentic tools, powders, and potions of the time.

Rick Wolf is a retired park ranger who served in New York, Alaska, and at Hopewell Furnace and Valley Forge National Historical Park in Pennsylvania for a total of 27 years. He has a bachelor’s degree in economic history from Long Island University.
