ABOUT THE EVENT

Phoenixville Public Library will host a free, in-person presentation, “Negro League Baseball in Phoenixville”, on Tuesday, June 14 at 6:00 PM. Rosalyn Sheckleford will be the speaker. Join us for an overview of Negro League Baseball from its inception through its experiences in Phoenixville. Attendees will enjoy a pictorial account of the beginning of baseball in the mid-1800s, review the ten most prominent past Negro baseball players, and take a trip down memory lane with Negro baseball in Phoenixville from 1938 through 1952 and beyond. In addition, Zamelia Doswell of Black Light Projects will be on hand to preview Phoenixville’s upcoming Juneteenth celebration. This event is free and open to the public.
