No Profit, No Return: Avoiding Investment Fraud

No Profit, No Return: Avoiding Investment Fraud

Thursday, June 28, 2018 No Profit, No Return: Avoiding Investment Fraud

Phoenixville Public Library will host a free presentation, “No Profit, No Return: Avoiding Investment Fraud”, on Thursday, June 28 at 7:00 PM. Tony Wolchasty of the AARP Consumer Issues Task Force will be the speaker. All legitimate investments involve some risk of loss. However, when you are talked into an investment by a scam artist, the risk is 100% that you will lose your hard-earned money! Don’t allow a free lunch or dinner invitation from someone pitching an investment to become the costliest meal of your life. Learn to investigate before you invest. Attend this educational and informative session presented by AARP in association with the Pennsylvania Securities Commission.

Tony Wolchasty is an AARP volunteer with the Consumer Issues Task Force (CITF) in Pennsylvania and has been a member of this 12-person group since 2009. The mission of the group is to promote consumer protection by educating all Pennsylvanians about fraudulent, misleading, unfair and abusive marketplace practices. Prior to joining the CITF, Tony spent 35 years with the U.S. Postal Service, serving as a Postal Inspector for 34 of those years. As a criminal investigator, he worked on cases involving consumers and businesses that were victims of fraud and theft within the jurisdiction of federal postal law.

This event is free and open to the public. Reservations are required on the Adult Events Calendar at or by calling 610-933-3013 x132.
