ABOUT THE EVENT
The Phoenix Book Club will meet next at Phoenixville Public Library on Monday, February 3 at 7:00 PM. The group will discuss Philip Roth’s bestselling novel, The Plot Against America. In an extraordinary feat of narrative invention, Philip Roth imagines an alternate history where Franklin D. Roosevelt loses the 1940 presidential election to heroic aviator and rabid isolationist Charles A. Lindbergh. Shortly thereafter Lindbergh negotiates a cordial “understanding” with Adolf Hitler, while the new government embarks on a program of folksy anti-Semitism.
A copy of the book may be reserved at the Library or online at www.ccls.org. This program is free and open to the public. No reservations required. For more information, call 610-933-3013 x132 or e-mail mpinto@ccls.org. Phoenixville Public Library is located at 183 Second Avenue, Phoenixville, PA.
