ABOUT THE EVENT
The Phoenix Book Club, Phoenixville Public Library’s virtual book discussion group for adults of all ages, will meet Monday, March 13 at 7:00 PM. The group will discuss Stoner by John Williams. In this 20th century American classic, William Stoner is born at the end of the 19th century into a dirt-poor farming family. Sent to the university to study agronomy, he instead embraces English literature and becomes an academic. Stoner experiences many disappointments–estrangement from his family, a stalled career, a cold marriage. Even his daughter–the light of his life–turns from him as solitude becomes his refuge. A physical or audiobook copy of this title may be reserved at www.ccls.org. An eBook copy may be reserved at https://chester.overdrive.com. The public is invited to attend.
