ABOUT THE EVENT

The Phoenix Book Club, Phoenixville Public Library’s virtual book discussion group for adults of all ages, will meet on Zoom Monday, June 12 at 7:00 PM. The group will discuss The Next Ship Home: A Novel of Ellis Island by Heather Webb. Francesca arrives at Ellis Island with her sights set on a better life than what she left in Italy. alma, an aspiring linguist, reports to her first day of work at the processing center. Ellis, though, is not the refuge it first appears to be, thanks to President Roosevelt’s attempts to deter crime. the two young women will need to rely on each other to claim the American dream.
