ABOUT THE EVENT
The Phoenix Book Club, Phoenixville Public Library’s book discussion group for adults of all ages, will meet virtually on Monday, September 12 at 7:00 PM. The group will discuss William Boyd’s novel, Trio. A producer. A novelist. An actress. It’s summer 1968–a time of war and assassinations, protests and riots. While the world is reeling, this trio is involved in making a disaster-plagued Swingin’ Sixties British movie in sunny Brighton. All are leading secret lives. As the movie shoot zigs and zags, these layers of secrets become increasingly more untenable. Pressures build inexorably. The FBI and CIA get involved. Someone is going to crack–or maybe they all will. Hilarious and heartbreaking the author asks the vital questions: What makes life worth living? And what do you do if you find it isn’t? A physical copy of the book may be reserved at www.ccls.org. The public is invited to attend this free Zoom event. If you are not already on the Book Club’s email list, registration is required at https://ccls.libcal.com/calendar/Phoenixville/trio to receive an invitation to the event.
