Revolutionary Women: Writing About War (online)

Thursday, September 24, 2020 Revolutionary Women: Writing About War (online)

ABOUT THE EVENT

Phoenixville Public Library will host a free virtual presentation, “Revolutionary Women: Writing About War”, on Thursday, September 24 at 7:00 PM. A speaker from Philadelphia’s Museum of the American Revolution will be the presenter. The Revolutionary War offered new opportunities for women from all backgrounds. Thousands of women chose sides and contributed to the American Revolution. They made supplies for the armies, managed and defended their households, and challenged the old political order. What do their individual experiences, documented in travel diaries, memoirs, court records, and commonplace objects tell us about their experiences, the War, and its legacy? Learn more in this free presentation.

This event is free and open to the public, and will take place online via Zoom. Registration is required on the Adult Events Calendar at www.phoenixvillelibrary.org or by calling 610-933-3013 x132. For more information, e-mail mpinto@ccls.org.
