ABOUT THE EVENT

This course is designed to familiarize entrepreneurs with the concept and terminology needed in the start-up and daily operations of a small business. Topics include: selecting a business structure, partnership & shareholder agreements, filing a fictitious name, contracts, hiring subcontractors vs. employees, the use of a business plan, liability insurance, accounting systems, tax liability and obtaining financing.

About The Presenter, Frank Farmer

A graduate of Widener School of Law and a member of the Pennsylvania Bar, Frank P. Farmer, Jr. has been engaged in the private practice of law since 1980. Located in Kennett Square, PA, but providing services throughout the Delaware Valley region, Mr. Farmer’s practice, concentrates in the area of small business transactions, which includes the representation of individuals and business entities; starting, operating and/or buying/selling small businesses. His services include, but are not limited to, incorporation services and registration of fictitious names; preparation and review of leases, contracts, employment agreements, shareholder/operating /partnership agreements; representation of buyers/sellers of businesses, conflict resolution and problem solving. Mr. Farmer has been an adjunct faculty member at Widener University (Brandywine College) teaching classes in “Business Law” and has also presented numerous business-related seminars in conjunction with local universities and major corporations.
