Phoenixville Public Library will host a free presentation, “The Basics of Generative AI” on Thursday, December 4 at 6:30 PM. Tom Pantazes, Ed.D., Assistant Director of Reflective Practice & Scholarship at West Chester University’s Teaching and Learning Center, will be the speaker. The presentation offers a practical introduction to AI, demystifying how these powerful tools perceive, learn, and make decisions. Discover the real-world impact of AI on the environment, truth, copyright, and labor, and learn how to leverage AI expertise responsibly. Through clear explanations and interactive examples, Tom will explore what AI is and how it works, the environmental impacts of AI, the challenges of misinformation and copyright in the AI era, and how to use AI tools creatively and ethically in everyday life. Whether you’re curious about the technology behind ChatGPT, concerned about AI’s societal effects, or eager to experiment with new tools, this presentation will equip you with the knowledge and confidence to navigate the evolving world of artificial intelligence.
