ABOUT THE EVENT
Phoenixville Public Library will host a free presentation, “The Early Years of Car Manufacturing in Southeastern Pennsylvania”, on Thursday, November 20 at 6:30 PM. Christina Vitabile, Museum Educator at the Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles, will be the presenter. Ever wonder about the local car manufacturing scene in Southeastern Pennsylvania? This lecture will cover the early years of car building in and around the Philadelphia area from the late 1800s to the 1920s. Enjoy a slide show presentation featuring vintage photographs of early automobiles and the factories that produced them, and hear the fascinating stories of those who dreamt of horseless carriages and how they survived (or not!) the challenging years of this new turn-of-the-century technology. This event is free and open to the public. The program will also be livestreamed on Zoom for those unable to attend in person. Registration is required at https://ccls.libcal.com/calendar/Phoenixville/early-cars-sepa or by calling 610-933-3013 x132. Email mpinto@ccls.org for more information.
